This website is being offered to my patients, colleagues, family, friends, and synagogue community. I hope it gives you a better understanding of transsexuality. It is a difficult concept for most to understand. Please feel free to contact me at if you have any thoughts, questions, concerns that were not adequately addressed on this site.
The internet offers a vast array of information and misinformation. I have attempted to keep the information on this site balanced. And realize that we are talking about human behavior here and sometimes hard facts are lacking or misinterpreted. Some of the most respected sites that you may come upon independently are geared for the transsexual and contain information that would be overwhelming in content and volume to a more casual reader. If you are uncertain of the veracity of any information that you may come across, I will be happy to discuss it with you.

Addendum: I’ve added some content to this page for the benefit of the Boston Globe readership. Please do not assume that because I am a physician my words on this very complex subject of gender identity are the last word. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I will attempt to answer them in an honest and forthright manner and in a spirit of goodwill.
